April in the Rain

The weather man says that we have had the most rainy days in April on record.  I believe them.

Dad has forged ahead and worked in the yard so it looks beautiful.  I have not been so diligent.  The garden bed have been dug up but for the most part I have not planted much because it has been so cool .  I suppose I will have a late garden this year.

We took Ian and went down to the beach to meet with a contractor to talk about fixing all the window leaks.  He said that we needed to replace the siding on the front of the house facing the beach.  We are waiting to see how much this is going to cost us.  

Ian brought along his Harry Potter book and borrowed grandma glasses.  Who do you think he looks like.

Jordana sent us a letter from Temple square, she is loving her mission there.  If you live in Utah you might see her there.  Our other missionary  Trevor Barfuss is in New York.  He was up at  West Point but has just been transferred to the Bronx.

Our coming trip to Italy and Greece has occupied most of our time the last few weeks  Our bags are packed and were checking them twice a day to make sure we have everything we need

 

Mom even has a new hair do.

The most exciting news happened on April 30.  Tami and her running friends went down to the Beach house to spend the night.  They found the house broken in to

The Robbers  broke off the door knob.

They took our new TV, with the dvd player .  They left our old VCR.  Didn’t they know it was an antique ?

Our two floats were gone.  I’ll miss them more than the TV.   They also took my bedspread, the quilted star quilt.  I suppose they took that to wrap up all the loot.

We feel fortunate that Tami went down to the Beach and discovered the break in.   Dad and I drove down yesterday and replaced the door knob.  We feel fortunate that no damage was done to the house.  The police have been helpful but I doubt very much that they will be able to catch the thieves.
