September in and out

    In and Out of warm weather that is.   We were hoping for a little more summer but we didn’t get much.  Well I just checked the blogs and it looks like I’m not behind yet.  So here is the news for September 2010.  After looking at the calendar it doesn’t look like we did much.  I see a few activities that we didn’t do…. I missed a book club, I hadn’t read the book and I was tired.  Dad chose not to go on the boat trip with his buddies, he was having to many problems with his tummy and didn’t think it would be much fun feeling miserable.  We did go out to Bob and Deanna Pierce’s house in Battleground Washington for a Barbecue.  We celebrated a few birthdays by calling and talking to some of our favorite people.  I gave a lesson to the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Dad helped Russ Jackson with a Board of Review for the scouts in the ward.  We planned an outing for our seniors and took them out to Scholls for a ride and lunch.  We took our turn to clean house for a sister in our ward dying of cancer.   Mostly we checked our Tomatoes to see if they were ripe yet and feasted on corn and other goodies from the garden.

Ellie came down to the beach with us and we put her to work fixing the deck.  She is pretty handy with the tools

The sunset was fantastic.

We have followed Anders around to watch him run cross country.

 

Labor Day we took a picnic to Council Crest and to do a little Geo Caching.  Ian left his shoes at home.  In true Indian fashion he made some shoes out of what was available, a little cardboard and plastic bags.

Thursday September 30th we arrived at the beach house to watch the contractors beginning to make the repairs on the front of the beach house.  This is the new siding spread out to dry after being dipped in the special paint.

 

The deck was dismantled and put aside.

The work begins plenty of rot is found.

All the siding was pulled off, the old rotten siding ripped off, the cantilevers cut off and the decay chipped out.  Finally the Windows were pulled out.   There is not much we can do but go ahead now.   The contractor and foreman assure us that it will not leak again.

Watch for our up coming blog in October to see how it turns out.  Plan to come and see us when it is all finished.
