june, Summer is here

The camera and my calendar help me remember that we have been busy this month, no wonder it slipped away so fast. Thanks for your phone calls and blogs it is so good to be connected. Ellie visited the other day and we checked out the face book scene. I'm glad to see that Chayce and Brandon are following the style set by their grand parents and are wearing nice large medically approved sunglasses also. Next time Ellie is over I will have to take careful notes so that I can check out your face books and keep up with all that's happening.

We love hearing about all of your adventures. Have a great summer and tell us all about it.

As usual we spent a good deal of time in the garden. My dogwood tree, was loaded with blossoms that lasted all month. I don't think I have ever seen it look this good.
We took a little trip up to Whidbey Island. Luckily the weather was perfect. The ferry ride was short but it was fun to be out on the water.
It was fun eating out doors, seeing the old towns, the gardens, and just driving around the islands enjoying the views.

I couldn't help but take this picture of a car similar to the first car that my dad, Grandpa Wilde, bought. It was in the early fifties. Before that we just used a car that belonged to the farm when it was available. Our car was a dodge, four doors, it was this same color and had the sun visor in front. It was a pretty exciting day for all of us.
We took some time to go down to the coast and cleaned up the yard a bit. It was cloudy and cool but not too cool to enjoy walking on the beach, the tide was way out so we walked around the head and explored a few places we hadn't been before.

Our new fence around the garden is working. We enjoyed a bumper crop of strawberries, raspberries. and lots of vegetables. Ian helped us pick the fruit.

There is a new train going from Beaverton out to Wilsonville. It is a commuter train, it only runs in the afternoon and morning. The seniors came to our house for homemade ice cream, and then we went down to the Tigard train stop and rode down to Wilsonville and back. That is about as exciting as it gets. I was surprised when 27 people showed up for the event. Was it my ice cream or the train ride that was the draw?

Here is Ellie braving smiling through her pain and relaxing after her adventure in the ER. We are happy that her appendix was removed and she is getting better everyday.
Keep happy everyone.

Love Grandma and grandpa

I wish you still had that old car. Would be worth something today. Have a great July.

Fun to see pictures of your trip. I don't think we ever got to talk about it. How is it so easy to go different directions when we live so close?
