Slow November

November has been pretty slow. I do not have many pictures to choose from and my calendar is not much help either. The weather has been cool and it feels more like sitting by the fire and reading a good book. I started reading "Little Dorrit" it is about the size of the Bible so it may take me awhile. Michelle and Bryce sent me the movie and I liked it so much I have been looking for the book. Dickens is always a good story teller. I don't think I have ever read one of his books that I did not enjoy.

Other wise it looks like we have been doing the same old things. A few Doctor appointments and tests for Dad, all is well but he still has the pain. I guess I should have been busy getting ready for Christmas. Here it is December and oh dear me, in no time the big day will be here.

The big news is that Dad and I have booked a trip to Italy in the spring with the McCaslins. We will tour Italy for a week and then broad a ship for a week of sailing around the Greek Islands and to Croatia and Turkey. Might as well spend our money before all the new taxes take all our money or we lose it all in the market. Right?

The good thing about the new time change is that the sun rises at a more decent time. It even inspires me to crawl out of my warm bed to catch all the magnificent colors.

The autumn colors in our back yard were pretty good also. Of course the morning light helps to make the picture better.

The trees are pretty bare now, but we do have a few brave blooms left. I guess winter is coming to stay soon.

We had some bad storms down at the beach. A tornado hit a narrow strip about 10 blocks from our house. As you can see by the pictures there was quite a bit of dammage done. Some of the lucky ones lost a few windows, others lost their decks and roofs. Others in the path of the whirl wind were left undamaged.

A lot of the sand has gone out to sea. We have had to make a few trips down to the beach house to caulk and take care of the leaks. When the wind blows the rain sideways it tends to find its ways through the siding into the house. Drip drip drip.

Tami and Family were at our house on Turkey day, we had a pleasant day eating way to much and playing some games, and of course watching the usual football games.

Well I was going to add another picture or two but this program is giving me fits. first I lost my first few paragraphs and now it is being stubborn and will not let me upload any more images. Does anyone else have this problem. Probably not. so I guess I will sign off and try later.

We're glad your beach house survived the tornado. Your trip to Italy sounds amazing - can't wait to hear all about it. Looking forward to seeing you!
