Happy July

This has been a busy and happy month. Brent and JoEllen arrived on the plane and Ron and Afton drove in soon after.  We spent the next week enjoying being together.

We were lucky to find a bit of shelter from the rain for our picnic in the gorge.

Anders thought it was a bit cold.

On July 3rd for our picnic at cook park we were blessed with better weather.

After the picnic we all drove down to St. Paul and went to the Rodeo.  That was fun.  Our seats were in the sun, so we walked up further into grandstand to get in the shade and ate kettle corn while we were waiting for the show to begin.

Do to technical difficulties on the part of the camera operator I lost my pictures of our visit to the coast with Ron and Brent.   We had great weather, lots of sunshine and blue skies, and cool enough to please the company from Arizona  We took a trip up to Canon beach, and stopped at Tillamook cheese factory on the way coming and going to eat Ice cream.  We played games, ate and went out to dinner, visited and even relaxed on the beach one morning. We had a great visit and hope we can repeat the fun another year.

Here is Ian all dressed up for Church we took him down to the beach house, he loves playing games.  We like some company when we go down.  Anyone like to come and go down with us?

Ian choose to sleep in the chair,  I guess he like company too.

Tami gave Dad tickets to a Beaver baseball game, it will be the last one we will see.  The stadium is going to be used exclusively by the Portland Timbers from now on.   I guess they think Soccer is going to be more popular than Baseball.

The high light of the month was our trip to New York and the Finger lakes.   What a beautiful place.  Everything around was so green and lush.  The lake was beautiful, refreshing and clean.

This is one on the views from the darling house Kim rented for us to stay in.

july 2010 019

Here is  Rob calling us to come down for a ride in his nice boat.  We had a great time riding around the lake to see all the beautiful homes that line the shore of the lake.

july 2010 023

Chayce and Brandon showed us their skills at water skiing and wake boarding.   Believe me they are very talented.  They moved so fast that my efforts to film them didn’t work.

The serious captain of the boat.

We found plenty of time to relax and read on the balcony,

and to watch the sunsets on Lake Keuka.

july 2010 031

It was fun to swim off the dock and off the boat out in the middle of the lake.

We liked this sign.

Brandon took us on a ride up to the head of the Lake. As we left the head of the lake the thunder and lighting started.  The sky was pretty spectacular.  Before we got home, black clouds were giving us a chase.  Just as we got to the dock the rain started pelting down on us. The boys ran to get the boat covered.

We ate well at the cottage and Rob treated us to several meals at the restaurants around the lake.  Thanks Rob and Kim.
