Zippy March

I can’t believe March has zipped by so quickly,  Here it is the third of April and everyone has posted their blogs already.  Great Job everyone.  Looks like you have all been busy busy.

Our greatest news of the month came on the 4th of March when we answered a conference call from all of you. You have made us very happy, and made us feel loved by you for planning a big 50th anniversary party for us.  We are looking forward to being together with all of you this summer.  I know it will be lots of fun.  Have we really been together that long?

We did make one trip down to the beach house this month, but it has been so rainy since, that we decided  to watch the rain here in Tigard.  I think we broke a record for the most consecutive days of rain in recorded history.

Ask us a question about American government or history and Dad and I can give you an answer.  We spent the first two weeks of the month boning up for our chance to become American citizens. We were asked to come dressed in appropriate attire{??}.

Here we are dressed up in appropriate attire ready for our test.  Dad wasn’t going to take any chances. They interviewed us separately.  After swearing us in to tell the truth they asked a few questions about our selves and proceeded with the civic questions.  After six easy questions, like who is the president of the United States? and where is the Capital?,  they informed us that we had passed.  So disappointing, we wanted to show off with how much we knew.  We could have been sworn in as citizens that very afternoon, but as we have our cruise to the Panama Canal planned soon, we did not want to run the risk of not having our US Passports on time.  So we will be be officially made citizens in May sometime.  We will celebrate then.

Ian was a scary pirate in the School play.  This is his last year at elementary school.  We will miss the fun.

Ellie came over and showed me how to make a sock monkey for Autumn.

After the earth quake and tsunami in Japan Grandpa decided it was time to clean up our water supply.  Ian, Ellie and friend came to our rescue.  Ian being the shortest crawled down under the house and lifted up all the bottles.  Ellie and Emily carried them out side in the rain and dumped them out.  We then washed up the good bottles and filled them with fresh water and Ian put them back down under the house.

Here is Ian down in the hole.  Do you think he has any ancestors that were minors?  He was a good sport and made us believe he was enjoying the job.

Many Many Thanks to the three of you for helping us out.

Dad took me out to a concert put on by the Travis Air force brass band.  There were only five players in the band but they were good and they played a nice variety of music.  We were glad we went.

We invited the seniors up to play games one afternoon.  It takes both Dad and I hopping from table to table to keep them informed as to how to play.  Anyway they laughed and had a good time.   I guess we will do okay as long as we remember how to play the games.

That's it for March, April will be a little more interesting if all goes as planned.    Love Mom and Dad.

Congratulations on passing your test. We'll have to add that to the celebration list for this summer. It only took you 50 years to study, how did you two ever graduate from school?

Congratulations on passing your citizenship test! You both look very "appropriately dressed" - I'm sure that helped you pass. :) Seth is sad he missed getting to climb under the house with Ian.
