I loved all your blogs. Thanks thanks to those of you that started this tradition. It is so fun to find out what all of you are doing, and to see all your happy smiles. Sorry for being so tardy this month. I guess I’m getting lazy or slow or something.
February at our house was full of not much. We took the seniors to see the BYU Dancers , they performed a beautiful show with fantastic costumes. It is getting very difficult to get them down town, especially at night time. I am thinking that we will only have activities in Tigard. Our group is aging. Any way we had a good group attending, and they enjoyed the show.
Ian invited us to the cub scout Blue and Gold dinner and we watched him get all his awards and walk over the bridge to become a boy scout. Help!!! more kids growing too old.
I spent a week getting ready for my big valentine tea for the senior sisters.
My first project was to sew up these napkins on my new sewing machine. Dad helped me get all the tables set up.
The girls all love to wear their hats, some plain, fancy and exotic.
Well the tea went well , lot of small fancy sandwiches and desserts. A few days before the tea I was walking in the mall and found a little tea shop, they were selling Honey Bush tea. I was pleased to see that it was a herb tea so I bought an ounce or two to please all the Fans who have read the “The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency “ books. I stopped at the local Goodwill shop and found a nice little glass pot to brew the tea in. The tea smelled wonderful and tasted good too. The ladies wanted more and I brewed up another pot. Dad my perfect waiter picked up the pot of very hot tea and started into the dinning room. Disaster struck. The handle broke, the hot tea and glass flew everywhere. We were so blessed that the accident happened before he got to the table. I had nightmares that night thinking of what could have happened. Anyway while I took over the serving duties, Dad mopped up the tea and picked up all the shattered glass. True to form he managed to get a splinter of glass into the fleshy part of his hand. I was worried that he might have a piece of glass buried in his hand. After a few days he didn’t say anymore about it, but then today almost three weeks later, he confesses that it is still sore and tender. Help!!!
Here is a little foot note to the story, I had invited the missionaries to come to the tea. One of the companions plays the Cello. He played “Amazing Grace” for us. A fitting end to our day.
Dad has been busy this month helping Craig Edwards get his passport and to an attorney to help him get some Social Security Disability. Craig is Bob Edwards son and Dad has the responsibility to take care of him. It gets pretty frustrating some times because Craig has a hard time remembering where and what he should be doing. He sounds pretty good when you talk to him but nothing happens. Now all we need to do is convince the powers that be that he needs help. He can’t keep a job, and the little money that his dad left him hardly cover his basic needs. Sad case. He got mixed up in drugs at a young age and that has been compounded with a nasty bike accident with no helmet. Now his teeth are all bad, his brother lives in Thailand and has invited him to use some of his air miles to come to Thailand. Once Craig gets there his brother will pay for some Dental work for him. Dental work is cheaper in Thailand. We hope that it will all work out.
Winter finally arrived. Winter with snow that is. It didn’t last long but it was pretty while it lasted. Now if the rain would just go away.
Watch for more excitement next month. Love you guys. You are the best. Love Dad and Mom

It seems like Dad averages a new injury about every month. I think we should wrap him in bubble wrap.
Mom did you steal that hat from the woman behind you in the picture? She looks really mad! :)
Tami, I like your idea, but the one problem is all his accidents seem to be with really sharp things. Perhaps chainmail would work better.
