The tree is down, the decorations are put away, the rain is back and all is quiet. We are heading off to the beach for a little change of scenery tomorrow.
We enjoyed December. Thank goodness to Tami and our seniors and friends, we kept busy.
Early in the month we took a quick trip to the beach, to check on the house, after all the wind storms, we were pleased to not find much damage. I think that we need to go down more often. Better plan to come and visit so that we have an excuse to go there.
Tree cutting time. Ian was our lumberman.
Time to get the decorations up. The spiders helped with the mail box.
The winter has been so mild that even the roses bloomed for the Christmas season.
The tree was delivered and decorated for us.
Here is the gingerbread party. Wish everyone could have been here.
Do any of you remember the Christmas tradition in Portland of the ships decorated with lights sailing down the Willamette to Oswego? We bundled up and went again this year. My pictures of the event were not very impressive.
We took the seniors to a nativity display in Milwaukie. Later we went out for Chinese food. I think they all liked it and it was much less work than our traditional Christmas dinner. I guess I’m getting lazy or tired.
The best part of Christmas is the music. I always love going to the concerts and programs.
Christmas eve we celebrated Ellie’s birthday in the afternoon and the Bakes all came to our house for the Christmas eve dinner and an evening of stories and games.
Christmas day was celebrated at Tami’s house. I’m not sure who these two are. Anyway they have their eyes on you.
Dad playing with his new toy. The picture of me with my new Kindle didn’t show up. I sure enjoy the Kindle. I have a couple of books down loaded to relax with at the beach. No heavy books to lug down to the beach.
Our newest driver, visiting to show off her new drivers permit. She looks pretty happy.
Some pictures from our lively New years eve party. It started at a restaurant for Chinese food and ended at McCasland’s for dessert, and a toast to the new year at about 10 PM.
There it is, a happy and busy month. Love to all of you
Mom and Dad
