If I hurry most of July will not be done before I finish the June blog. Where does the time go.
Here we are at the Childs center for Anders graduation.
Congratulations Anders you are as smart as you are good looking. We are sure proud of you.
We took Ellie down to the Beach and cleaned up the decks on the beach house. Ellie and I took of some time to watch the kite festival and to do some shopping at the outlets.
Dad and I took a little vacation and drove up to north eastern Oregon. We stopped in Elgin to visit our old friends the Dutsons. they have a beautiful place on 150 acres, lots of trees and meadows and a lovely home. We could envy them but they have had so many problems with their children and grandchildren that I would not trade places with them. We drove on to Joseph for the night and spent the next day driving through some beautiful country around Hells Canyon. Some of the roads we traversed were very scenic but a little narrow and scary. Luckily we didn’t meet much traffic.
Our journey took us into Idaho, the trees stopped at the border. We rented a little cabin in Stanley Idaho in the Saw tooth mountains. Very beautiful country. if you haven’t been there you should go.
Friday we dropped down into Sun valley and Ketchum. On our way to get back onto Highway 84 we stopped to see the Shoshone ice caves. It was quite an experience to move from the hot desert sun down into a cave that held a small river of ice.
yes this in the entrance, and our guide standing on the ice. The last picture is a part of the cave that has collapsed.
Some beautiful girls took us in and entertained us for the evening.
Finally we arrived at Bryce’s house for the grand Farewell.
Megan was busy packing and saying good bye to all of her friends and relatives. She gave an outstanding talk in church and we were all proud and impressed. We know she is going to be a great missionary.
Sunday we stopped by to see Anders in his new spot at BYU.
I think he likes BYU.
Well that does it for June and a wee bit of July. Love all of you, but darn you are getting scattered around the world. Keep in touch. \
Love Grandma

I'm glad you made it through those mountains and that there was really a road. I love that you take time and make the effort to be part of your grandchildren's lives. They are all so lucky to have you. Me too. Love you!
