June and July 2014

I guess if I am going to catch up on my blogs I am going to have to cheat and do three  months together.   This has been a busy summer.  A very different summer with lots of warm summer days.  I don’t think I have experienced a summer quite like this since we moved to Oregon.  Do you realize that we moved here 39 years ago.  I remember a huge rain storm.  We need another like it our lawn is getting crunchy.  We celebrated our move by going down to Canterbury square and having pizza.  For a few years we remembered the anniversary of our move by returning to the same place to have pizza.   The pizza shop is long gone now, along with the little “88” cent store and  Big B Thriftway.  I packed a lot of groceries out of that store.  Change it is the one thing we can count on.

After checking my calendar, it appears that we kept pretty busy, doing this and that, we even went down to the coast to clean up the cabin and the yard. Tami and family left for New Orleans and Florida. The best part was having Bryce and family here for a few days.   The kids put on a traditional circus with a great display of talents.

Our traditional picnic in the gorge included a hike up to Oneida  falls.  The water was not very warm, but gorge was green and beautiful.

July

Rob Kim and Chayce retired to the Beach house.  Chayce stayed a few days and then flew home.  We hoped to visit with him but his bus from the coast missed the stop in Tigard.  He’s off to Madison Wisconson for his new job.

My new friend Samantha spent a day or two with us at the Beach. She is in Tigard fixing up her fathers house. Her home is in Hawaii  she is thinking that she will move back to the mainland and live in the house her father left her.
