November flew by in a hurry. I am thankful that I was able to finish my Turkey blogs. Now would you all come over and I will cook up a Turkish feast for you, complete with apple tea and Turkish delight.
Grandpa spent a considerable amount of time on acquiring his new pickup truck from Craig Edwards. If you remember Grandpa was given the responsibility to take care of Bob Edwards son Craig, to see that Craig was given a portion of his inheritance each month to live on. Craig had a little gardening service and bought the truck a couple of years ago to cart his tools about. His brother Jeff who lives in Thailand talked Craig into coming to Thailand to live. Jeff rented a nice condo on the Beach for Craig to live in, and will continue to pay his rent of $300. Jeff will take over Dad’s responsibilities. I suppose you could call him a ‘brothers keeper.”
Now we can take a trip to the Dump when we need to, and pick some bark dust and gravel when we need it. The truck is a Ford Ranger “1996”. Grandpa paid $2000 for it. The tires are new and so far it runs well. I will decline to drive it because it has a stick shift, and I have been there and am finished doing it again. Grandpa had fun getting it registered because Craig didn’t have a title for it, they had to do a little running around to find the last people to have a title for it. Bottom line we are again a two vehicle family. As you can see it barely fits into the garage.
Dad did a lot of gardening, picking up leaves and digging up my vegetable beds.
We spent the last few days of November at the coast. We feasted on turkey and all the trimmings and spent a lot time playing games. Thursday night at about 9 PM. Jeff informed us that the “outlet Mall” had opened at 6pm. We were tired of games so we jumped in the car and took off. We found some good bargains and got a little Christmas shopping done. Its a good thing because we were hit with heavy rain and wind on Friday.
Saturday the weather was a little better. We headed out to take some senior pictures of Ellie for the year book.
It was a bit windy. The sea was beautiful. The sky as well.
In the afternoon we squished into grandpa’s car and Jeff drove us up to Tillamook for ice cream. We stopped on the way to hike up to Munson falls. I have never seen so much water spilling off of the cliff.
Sunday the sky was clear and beautiful. We went to church and listened to the sweetest primary program. There were only about 8 or ten children, mostly girls and they sang their little hearts out.
We all had tears in our eyes. I think the simple pure little primary song express the heart and sweet message of the gospel best.
Goodbye to the beach, November is done. We will look forward to hearing from all of you next month with all your busy activities. Grandpa and I are most grateful for all of you and you make our lives full. We Love you.
Love Grandma and Grandpa
