Well it looks like I forgot an important day in February. On the 28th of February Ian received his Eagle scout award. We are proud of you Ian.
He is a handsome kid, and we love him.
ON the 5th of March Megan and Chrystal arrived from Logan and the fun began. We took a drive in the country to the town of Forest Grove to look at Pacific University. Beautiful little campus, very quiet, I guess all the students were in class. The weather cooperated and we were able to walk around the campus. Megan liked the campus, it is on her list of places to go to graduate school.
Our next stop was at Cannon Beach. The waves were wild, lots of foam at the waters edge..These mermaids look right at home. Maybe they need a little seaweed in their hair to complete the look.
A perfect spring day at the Beach, great for walking.
Time for lunch at a charming little restaurant in Cannon Beach, a fun place to visit. T
What a beautiful day to drive down the coast. Of course the day was made complete with a stop in Tillamook for ice cream.
Wet and Wild describes the weather for the rest of our time at the beach, but it didn’t stop us from having fun.
Time for resting, reading and playing games. We drove south to Newport and climbed to the top of the light house and visited some museums, and shops.
Back to Portland, to visit with cousins and Portland State. Megan liked the PSU campus. Maybe we can hope that will be her choice for graduate school, we will see??? We spent the afternoon at Powel’s book store and made a stop at “Salt and Straw” for some weird flavored ice cream, I had pear and blue cheese, yum yum. I think Megan likes Portland, yea!!
The last day of this wonderful visit has arrived. A visit to the temple was sweet and the girls were off on their way back home. Thanks so much for coming I loved every minute of your visit, I have lots of fond memories of our time together. Please come back again.
Well the rest of month slipped by, while we waited for the sun to shine. At last it came , the sun that is. Grandpa and I took a drive to the tulip farm. The tulips were gorgeous, the day perfect and I neglected to take my camera. Here is the bouquet I brought home with me to enjoy. Now I have a picture to remind me of the day.
