Real winter in 2009

What has happened to January? That used to be the month when I was able to complete some projects, like cleaning out my files and organize the kitchen shelves. I had better work hard in February so I won't be so far behind.

Grandpa is working on Genealogy, and today I got him [with Bryce's help]to get ancestry .com on my computer. I'm running out of excuses to get some genealogy done.

I just heard the closing bell from the Alberta Rider School, that reminded me that Alberta came for a visit. We had the seniors up to visit with her. It was her birthday, 95 years. She looks pretty good and can move around and for the most part carry on a good conversation. When I'm that age I hope I'll be doing as well.

She can still play the piano and sing, or recite.

All the Seniors came up for a afternoon of games. We played Bunko for a while and then switched to play table games. I fed them a cream puff and sent them home. Now I need to think up some new activities. Any Ideas?

The highlight of the month was my trip to Utah. Poor Grandpa stayed home all alone, I don't believe he made a fire the whole time I was gone. Now he thinks its way to hot in the family room. Its a balmy 68*. He took a trip to the coast and didn't find much damage to the beach house. In the mean time I spent a couple of days with Jeffs kids. I watched both Alysha and Alex play basket ball. Alysha is doing well for a beginner. She made 7 of the 9 point made in the game. The other team did not do as well. Alex had a good game too.

Alysha, Brittany and I had a little stitching afternoon. You can see their handy work.

I spent the next week with the Bryce Ririe bunch. Great kids, they are all grown up and it wasn't much work taking care of them.

Megan did the cooking and knew just how to take care of everything around the house.

Sasha guarded the house, making sure that no one came into the neighborhood unexpectedly.

Devin worked hard at his homework, and did what ever I asked him to do to help.

Seth was a good helper too, he also liked to keep the balls moving or bouncing.

Autumn kept grandma happy by playing lots of games with her, and reading books to her. She always ran errands for grandma with a big smile.

Joanne, Robert Melissa and Megan came over for a visit. We are hoping they will come to visit us sometime in February.

Here are all the Utah Ririe cousins ready to eat pizza and watch a movie on the big screen at Bryce's house.

I loved being with all of you. Now I'm home standing by the fire and trying to keep warm. The humidity is high, that could explain why I feel so cold.

Love to all of you. Grandma Ririe

Wow, did you make that blog happen all on your own? You are so high tech. I miss those cute Utah cousins. I wish I could have gone with you to play.
