August and September flew past. What beautiful weather we enjoyed. We moved
around a bit and loved the country that we were able to travel in, and appreciated the
land that we live in. How lucky we are to have this land to live in, God has been good
to us.
Tami treated me with tickets to Les Miserable's, it was fun to see the play once again
and to enjoy the great music. Thanks Tami
We had our annual garden party for the seniors. They surprised us with balloons and
cake for our 50th anniversary. This has been a year of celebrations for us.
Do you remember Lost Lake? Dad invited a couple of our friends to drive up to the
lake with us. The day was clear, a good day for Photos. The day was a good reminder
of how much we love the mountains. We stopped at Multnomah falls on the way
home and walked up to the bridge. Steve , our friend wanted to show us his grandfather’s
name engraved on the bridge, his grandfather had helped to build the bridge long ago.
Near the end of the month Dad and I helped with one of the exchanges for the Hood to Coast
race. We were stationed just north of Sandy, at an elementary school. I had a quiet place helping people
find parking places. Dad was out in the inter section directing traffic . I think he was enjoying the
job. I thought he would never let go of the job. Fortunately we were able to see Tami come to our exchange
and visit with us for a minute or two before her team moved onto their next exchange.
A couple of days later we left for Canada and Big Fork Montana.
You can’t see us in the picture but we did enjoy sitting here and visiting Ron, Afton, Brent and Jo Ellen at their
Condo’s on the Lake. We went on one short hike but spent most of the time visiting and playing some games.
Unfortunately Afton woke up one night with bad pain in her arms and a heavy feeling in her Chest. Ron drove
her to the hospital I went along to keep them company. At the hospital the Doctors recommended an
Angiogram. The result was putting three stints into her veins going into her heart.. Fortunately Afton was
taken good care of and we were thankful that they had a good hospital and knowledgeable Doctors in Kalispell.
Wednesday left to drove over Logan Pass on our way to Canada. The drive was as spectacular as always.
As usual there was construction on the road. Time to smell the roses.
While we were visiting with Joanne and her granddaughters, Dad and I took a day
to visit Waterton.
Joanne and I took Dad down to the train in Cutbank on the third of Sept and sent him home
to harvest the garden, collect the mail, and to pay the bills.
The month of September kept us busy getting Joanne’s affairs taken care of and getting
her house and garden ready for the long winter. We took time to have lunch with our cousin
Calee, to go to the temple and take a trip up to Stettler to visit with Cheri’s family.
Here is Guy standing in his field of Canola, as you can see he had a bumper crop.
The black horse is the stud. If you want to see more pictures of Guy’s horses go to
www.twinarrowsranch.com His ranch is called Twin Arrow Ranch
If you look closely you can see the twin arrow brand on the horses flank. The lake pictured above
is on the ranch. The north country is beautiful in the summer.
As we traveled home we witnessed the great wheat bowl harvest. Combines were humming
across the fields. I took this picture at Joanne’s house. You can see them unloading the wheat
from the combine as the combine continues move around the field, no time is wasted in getting the crop
off the field.
This a picture I took at sunrise just before we left Canada. As you can imagine it was hard to
take Joanne away. We will let you know how October goes here in Oregon. Love all of you.
Keep happy and remember that Life is beautiful.

Sounds like you have had an adventurous couple of months! Sorry to hear about Afton, but glad that she is okay. Loved all the pictures - life surely is beautiful!
Now that you have Dad trained on all the canning, you need to train him on the blog, so he can keep it up to date while you are out traveling the world.
