Thanksgiving

Time to remember all that I’m thankful for.

First is my great family.

What a great bunch of smart caring people. How rich you make my life. What happy times we have had together.

I’m thankful for this beautiful world we live in.  Notice the windless beach we enjoyed on Veterans day week end.

Ian and Ellie brought along a few friends, to play, eat and clean up with us.

I’m thankful for friends, They fill up my life with pleasant things to do.

I’m most thankful for Dad who in spite of a bad back installed a new disposal, kitchen faucet and dish washer for me.  He is a real trouper.

However I have to keep a close eye on him.  Dad banged up his hand pretty badly in the lawn mower while trying to unplug  the leaves from the Shute.

I am thankful for my brother Keith, who just died Sunday.  He was always kind to me.  I am thankful that his long struggle with cancer is over.

This is Keith and I with our handsome Dad.  What a cute little guy Keith was.  I feel sorry for the tough life he had.  At about this age he started to have epileptic seizures.  He was very bright and not particularly athletic so he had a hard time fitting in with the rest of the farm boys.  He was most comfortable with his nose in a book.   He did well with his scholastic life but had a hard time, in spite of his well intended efforts, understanding and providing what his family needed from him. He was a good big brother and I remember many happy times with him as a child. My only complaint was that when we were playing cow boys and Indians with our cousins, he told me I was to be a squaw. That did not set well with me,  I was hoping for a more glamorous roll. He was my brother and I loved him.

I am most thankful for the gospel in my life, and in each of your lives.  It is what binds us together here and hopefully in the life to come.

I love you all.

Love Grandpa and grandma
