I’m looking for an excuse for being so long getting my blog up to date. I can say that I couldn’t down load my pictures off the camera. Finally I took my camera card to Costco and unloaded my pictures onto a disc. Therefore no more excuses. We had a wonderful summer, thanks to all of you that came to visit.
Dad and I took a road trip to visit the southern coast of Oregon. We live in a beautiful state.
The shore, the bays, the rocks, the light houses, the bridges, the dunes all were a feast for the eye.
We stopped at shore acres and visited the lovely gardens built by a rich lumber Barron and his wife. They built their home on a cliff over looking the ocean. It must have been a great place to watch the waves.
AT the outlet of the Rogue we took a adventurous ride up the river.
We didn’t see many rapids, but the driver made those we hit lots of fun and we saw lots of wild life. I like the seal keeping guard over his territory.
we traveled over the coast mountains and back into the rogue river valley.
We stopped for lunch and watched the rafters set out for a ride down the Rogue. It looks like fun we should all plan to do it some time.
Back home to enjoy our own back yard.
Time to celebrate Ellie. Graduation from seminary and High School.
Another trip, up to Washington this time. Up by Willipa bay, Hoquiam, and Aberdeen, a wonderful trip.
The first of our summer visitors were the Riries, Kent and Lori and his son Jared and wife Caily.
Jared was interning at Intel for the summer.
Bryce and family arrived in July and kept us busy for a week. Megan brought her friend Chrystal along.
We had fun doing the usual things, bear hump, the aquarium and of coarse Tillamook for Ice cream.
A stop at the temple for pictures. Some people love to be in the pictures. I think Seth was trying to take a picture. Bryce and Michelle were remembering an earlier visit here. Was it 25 years ago?
Fly swat volley ball played with cousin Melissa and family.
A visit from a few spotted friends in Tigard and the coast.
At coast again with Jeff and family and a hike to drift creek falls.
another hike up bear hump. Guess who didn’t go to the top.
A rare picnic on the deck. This has been an unusual summer, lots of warm perfect weather.
What could be more perfect that a hike up to Oneida falls on a hot day.
Of coarse a little ice cream makes a good finish.
We end the festivities, with another game of fly swap volley ball and time to reminisce about all the fun times we have had together.
August was a little dull. It was difficult to decide what to do about our house. It made perfect sense to sell it while we had the opportunity, but it is sad to say goodbye to 40 years of living and growing. Well perhaps it time for a new adventure.
Love you guys. You make our life wonderful.
Love Mom and Dad
